The CULTURE & ARTS FESTIVAL 2016 started with a blast yesterday, Saturday August the 6th.

There was sunshine, there was colour, there was paint (lots of paint), there was music, there was food and there was plenty of happy faces. Adair Lane and Bedford Lane had their fair share of budding artists yesterday from first-time spray-painting toddlers to the seasoned pros, water-colour sessions, live street art painting, graffiti writers and interactive artistic activities.

The Icon Factory would like to thank everyone who turned up yesterday to take part in the festival.

A very special thanks to TD Maureen O’Sullivan for officially opening the August Culture & Arts Festival 16 and to esteemed Irish author Rosita Sweetman for opening the new Icon Walk section ‘ Women Writers Of Ireland’

A big thanks to all our volunteers and painters Aga, Kevin, Magda, Terrie, Kris, Tamara, Fergal, Méalaini and Kaloe for all their help in organising and participating in the festival. A big shout out to Barney for all his encouragement.

Thanks to IDEAL, EL VIZ and A WAY 2 FEELINGS for taking part and bringing some colour to the laneways, and musicians Gareth Curtis and Lukas for bringing some sounds to the Laneways.
