September 2011
Emma Doyle is a self-taught artist from Bray, Co. Wicklow.
Her major influences are Gustav Klimt, Frida Kahlo and Van Gogh amongst others.
Colour plays an important role in her work. ‘I like to start by painting with light shades and gradually adding more intense colours. My work is mainly based on a stylised version of the human figure’.
Her Icon Factory exhibition, ‘Decadent Days’, was based on the art & fashion of the 1920s.
