“The Icon Art Walk, featuring images of Bono, Seamus Heaney and Oscar Wilde, opened yesterday in Dublin’s Temple Bar."
"The walk, which takes in Bedford Lane, Aston Place and Price’s Lane, chronicles Irish culture from the birth of the nation to the fall of the Celtic Tiger. It covers ten separate aspects of Irish identity including images and faces from the world of art, literature, music, media, sport and humour including portraits of significant figures. Over 24 artists from many countries and all ages, contributed to the colourful mural.
Other images on the walk include The Clancy Brothers, James Joyce, Samuel Beckett, Shane McGowan and, er, Eamon Dunphy.”
